An interview with fellow author, Jim Hughes
What is your name, and where do you live?
I am Jim Hughes and I live in southeastern Iowa.
2. Tell us about your current book.
C Through Marriage is a book written primarily for the Christian community, although I do believe there is a lot of content that everyone would find to be helpful. I cover 48 different topics, all beginning with the letter C. Some of the topics I cover are: cash, children, communication, company, Christ, conflict, and cuddling. I include some thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter to help stimulate discussion and action.
3. What genre do you enjoy reading?
Mainly non-fiction, although I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the fiction writings of my fellow authors.
4. What book are you reading now?
I am in-between books right now. I like to review books from fellow Christian authors and I have several books on my list to read.
5. What facts about your life do you want your readers to know about you?
I am absolutely sold out to Jesus Christ. He made me who and what I am today. I live to honor and please Him in all I do. I know that I fall far short of who I should be in Him, but he loves me still. I have had the privilege of serving Him in the ministry for most of my life and now as an author. I am so blessed to know Him and to be married to a woman who loves me in spite of myself. We have been married for almost 40 years, have two married children, a grand daughter, and a son who still lives at home. We have been foster parents for several years.
6. If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go and why?
I suppose it would be the Holy Land because it is where the Lord lived and ministered.
7. Do you have any hobbies (other than writing)?
Not really unless you count reviewing books and occasionally helping to edit other authors’ works.
8. Are you working on any other books? Tell us about them.
I have two books written that are ready to be published. One is a study guide to, C Through Marriage. I also have a book on the making of a Christian marriage. I have a volume two started on C Through Marriage. I also have a couple of other books in my mind to write. They may never get done.
9. What do you enjoy most about writing?
Knowing that others appreciate and benefit from my writings. I am all about doing what I can to help others grow in their faith. It blesses me to know that the Lord is using my writings to honor him. I also write a daily devotional that I have sent out for several years now. It is a real blessing to me when I get feedback on how they minister to others.
10. What other authors have inspired you?
Wow. I can’t narrow it down to a few. I have really been inspired by the writings of my fellow Tate authors and those others whose books I have read. I don’t want to name names, because I don’t want to leave anyone out.
11. Do you have a link where we can purchase your books or learn more about you?
My book is available through most outlets where Christian books are sold. You can learn more about me and my book at www.cthroughmarriage.com. There is also some info on Amazon books.com.
